Revamp: The Sequal

Coming soon to a web browser near you..

I am soon to be revamping my blog, hopefully into a nicer website design (probably uniquely designed) and hopefully get my own domain. Thus, meaning tumblr might no longer be my blog host.

It’ll be cool to have your own site, you can post anything you want and makes it easy for me — especially if I want to organize my Culinary Arts photos, photo-graphical, and video-graphical contents.

Most likely, this blog will be extremely inactive, so yeah!

It’s a party in the ROP!

Republic Of Philippines is what it means.

That’s right! I am back again in Philippines for another week’s with of vacation. I wouldn’t really call it vacation because it was more of a family visit. My Italian aunt was there, and wanted to give a surprise visit and to my grandmother.

Their facial reactions were priceless then they were shocked when me and my mother arrived. It was like they have won a brand new car in the Price Is Right. Today, drove all the way from Cavite, Dasmarinas to Navotas — it’s more than hours which is like going from east to west of Singapore many times — and visited my cousin and her family.

Not forgetting the festival season, we had a very fantastic view of the festival which is held once a year in May/June period. I didn’t took picture because I didn’t want to take the risk of getting robbed, so yeah.

Hopefully something interesting and less tiring happens tomorrow, and I’ll see sunny Singapore again on 7th June!

Seafoods galore!

Arrived at school extremely late today, basically because of traffic. We did Seafood Chowder today, the smell was wonderful. My final product’s taste was superb but was not thick enough. It was originally nice and thick until that teacher go and ruined it!

He said “Oh, your’s too thick, put more stock”, and he went to pour the other stock instead. I wanted to put my own stock. After school, Emilia and I had to stay back for the WDA Hygiene Course Practical, freaking distracting okay!

You doing the practical, suddenly in the middle the teacher asks you a question, so distracting! I was too distracted until I nearly screwed up, up to the point that I can’t call it a “good confident work” or a “extremely bad work”. I call it like in between.

Anyway, at least it’s over and finally it’s back to classes ending at 11.30am, and hopefully June’s schedule is not very busy (especially on June 23). Teehee!

Brrrr, it’s so not cold.

Today, we did Chilled Soup in school. Practically we kinda cheated when making the soup’s shape. Let’s backtrack..

Few days ago, Emilia and I went to the bakery shop to buy the cookie cutter to use it to make shapes. On the day itself, we brought it and used it for making a wonderful masterpiece. But, you might notice, if you have sharp eyes, there is a cow’s head in the middle. Yes, it’s branded!

The teacher said the taste was okay, and the texture is a little too thick. Hey, at least we tried, teehee.

Butt-asticly Awesome!

Your butt is a naturally made organic pillow.

School started at 12.15pm today, due to the Hygiene Course. It was like basically a repeat of the FN Chapters in secondary, and a review of the previous chapters we’ve touched in theory lessons.

Our notes were like uber thick, really have some weight to it. People like Ain wouldn’t be able to even carry it I bet. Lesson ended 4 minutes earlier today, and I totally forgotten to scan my fingerprint before class. Went the office immediately after school to inform them, hopefully it’ll be fixed.

Today was also a very rainy day, and when there’s rain, there will be slippery floors. Emilia and I were walking downhill, both of us were talking some random shit, while all of a sudden she went missing for a second. Poor Emilia, ended up on the floor after sliding on the wet pavement.

Hillarious scene, but falling is normal right? Thank god for her super talented buttocks that saved her life and her school bag. Oh Emilia..

Tomorrow is our cooking session and another day of Hygiene lectures, hopefully we won’t screw up tomorrow and hope Emilia doesn’t forget our tools. Please rain again tomorrow, if you know what I mean.

Teehee!

Business Sense

Is money your drug?

School were as per usual. The topic we’ve learn today was about Business of marketing your restaurant and doing surveys. Rather, the methods of proper restaurant management and the guide to success.

I found that the topic I’ve learnt today was very useful and very good advice for future plans. After school, headed home immediately. Didn’t have to wait for the bus for too long, like about 30 seconds?

Reached home earlier than expected too, and feeling tired as always. If you are reading this, you’re probably wondering why today’s blogpost is somehow short. Well, it’s basically because nothing interesting has happened yet nor have I been on an outing.

Let’s just hope that interesting situations happen to me. Teehee.

Consumme is not easy to consume.

The day I’ve been waiting for a very long time. The day where traffic was very clear, manage to reach on time, even though that I was like 1 minute late. Today, we cooked a dish called Consumme.

Defination of it? It is a clear soup made of beef and other ingredients. You then fry the onions until each side is black as in burnt (that is actually caramel) and put it in the soup to give it it’s wonderful flavor and color.

The outcome was wonderful for the unknown time. I was glad that the Chef said that my Consumme’s color is perfect and the taste is wonderful. I really placed lots of effort to the dish’s design too. Yes, I was the last to finish, but hey mine was the best among all.

Anyway, tomorrow is Theory. Finally some relaxing aircon lessons, and Monday is where we’ll start out Hygiene course, the stupid NEA’s orders. I’m excited for Monday too! Gaga, here I come.

Hearts!

Pants on fire!

Today was a very unique day. Instead of heading to the usual way of going to school. I was heading to Tampines Fire Department instead for a course set up by our school to train us on First-Aid and Fire Safety and how to use the AED machine (the ones found in shopping malls). The most useful tip was how to make those annoying Singaporean aunties who only know how to stand there do nothing take picture only with a wonder tip which I won’t share, teehee.

We started off learning about fire, and how it was literally made and how to put out fires. After that we had to walk all the way to the Tampines Community Center for lunch. Afterwhich, we had a course of CPR and First-Aid.

Tiring day though. We went home earlier than expected, Emilia and I had to wait for our Dads to pick us up. The strange thing was, Emilia’s Dad came first but only a few seconds after, mine arrived. Talk about being in sync!

Tomorrow is our cooking lesson, hope that I’ll make it through!

It’s a showcase, all right!

My mom recently won a pair of tickets to Zuno’s Showcase in the Resorts World Sentosa. The place was like so wonderful but like incomplete construction. We were driven to the location, and we made our way to the showcase.

Boy, security was very tight. The security guard was like looking me with a weird look on why did I have a Kris Allen CD inside my bag instead of a Zuno one. The showcase started with a boom, not a bang. Zuno came out and dance out to his brand new single with uber loud speakers.

Overall, the showcase was a rating of 8/10 for me, hope that he sings more English songs though. Oh, and his brother also made an appearance there, uber cool much! Sentosa looked so beautiful at night.

Two dishes are a charm.

Reached school just in the nick of time today, and traffic was as usual bad. The class cooked two dishes today, the Cream Of Tomato and Pumpkin Puree. I thought that I would like totally screw up the cooking process, and to my surprise my dishes came out lovely.

The teacher gave both Emilia and I good praises, and said we were improving. So like hurray! Tomorrow there isn’t school and hopefully I get a nice rest. Friday is theory, so it’s going to be boring yet relaxing. We gotta prepare ourselves for May, because it’s going to be a hell of a month.

Busy, busy, busy and tight schedule.
